Trade documents and conformity that verify across borders
UNTP credential families — Digital Product Passport, Digital Conformity Credential (DCC), Digital Traceability Event (DTE), and related credential types — are issuable and verifiable today in the public Verifable sandbox.
Issue and verify these credentials now in the sandbox.
Identity for trade
DIDs and did:webvh give organisations and registries a verifiable, resolvable identity, wired here for the UNTP credential families.
KERI and ACDC support self-certifying identifiers, key histories, delegated identity and chained credentials. They are implemented in the underlying stack, but are not presented here as a guided trade workflow.
Scope
What runs today is the credential layer a customs process consumes: issued, signed and independently verifiable trade credentials. Customs-system integration itself sits outside the current public platform.
A concrete example
An illustrative battery shipment shows what a receiving party would check:
- The shipment carries its Digital Product Passport.
- It carries a Digital Conformity Credential issued by a named conformity assessment body.
- It carries a Digital Traceability Event recording the shipment itself.
- The receiving party resolves and verifies each issuer's identity independently.
- The receiving party checks signatures, issuer trust, validity and applicable status information, then decides whether the evidence meets its requirements. Successful verification does not itself clear a shipment through customs.
